Our 2011 season has been full of challenging and unbelievable projects here at The Framing Department, but none more so than one undertaken alongside The John Rogers Photo Archive and Legendary Auctions. We have been lucky enough to print a myriad different images taken by fabled American photographer Charles M. Conlon, and to build some elegant portfolio boxes to house them and keep them in their original, stunning condition.
Each of these portfolio boxes is designed to hold ten Platinum- Palladium prints of golden-era greats like Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. Hand-crafted and meticulously detailed, these boxes are made with two tones of book binding material, then foil-stamped with Conlon’s most famous image: Ty Cobb sliding into third.
