The Framing Department is happy to announce that we are sponsoring the 5th Annual Kahtoola Agassiz Uphill race to benefit Camp Colton, Saturday February 11th, 2012. Not only are we sponsoring the event, but we have formed a team to participate in the race! For those of you who don’t know, this race is held at the Arizona Snowbowl and consists of approximately 1,500 feet of elevation gain/ loss over a 3.5 mile track. The participants are required to wear some kind of traction on their feet up and down the mountain, like snowshoes, MICROspikes, crampons, etc. Costumes are not required, but are highly encouraged. Fun is mandatory.
But all that racing and running and fun aside, we’re really excited about the fundraising portion of this event. This year, the Friends of Camp Colton have received the 40th Anniversary Grant that matches donations to the organization up to, drumroll… $50,000! That’s right, 50,000 big ones. And we need your help!
We’re taking pledges until race day, which are tax deductible of course, and every dollar donated is matched through the grant. So please give what you can to this fundraiser, every little bit helps. And we appreciate any contribution, small or large, that you can make to this awesome event!
