As you may already know The Framing Department sponsored and participated in the 5th Annual Kahtoola Agassiz Uphill race to benefit Friends of Camp Colton on February 11, 2012, and we’re telling everyone what a rousing success it was! This year there were over 130 participants and over $7,000 was raised for Camp Colton, which will be matched by the 40th Anniversary Grant for a total of over $14,000 raised.
Team Framing Department had a great time eating the dust of all of the stupendously gifted athletes that participated in the event. We are also proud to say that all four members of the team finished in under an hour, with Matt leading the group with a time of 46 minutes. Just for comparisons sake, the overall winner crossed the finish line in under thirty minutes, a new record! That is FAST!
We also want to give a special thanks to team Mountain Skirts of Mountain Sports Flagstaff for winning the “Help a Friend Up the Mountain” award for the most money raised by a team. These four women raised over $4,000 for the event and impressed the heck out of everyone with their fundraising prowess.
So, a big “Thank You” to everyone helped support us during our campaign to help raise money for this very worthy cause, and to all the participants and volunteers for making this event possible. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
